Approach
A high-conviction, large-outcome mindset.

RETEN does not try to look broad, busy, or universally compatible. The goal is to be clear, selective, and useful to founders building products that can become globally important.

RETEN approach visual
1

Conviction over consensus

RETEN is comfortable with early judgment when the market structure, product potential, and founder profile justify the call.

2

Outcome-first screening

The first question is not whether the business is respectable. It is whether the upside can produce venture-level returns.

3

Category ambition

RETEN prefers products that can lead a category, reshape behavior, or own a large customer relationship.

Founder fit

Who this site is trying to attract.

RETEN is designed to attract founders who are not trying to build a modest, bounded, or purely local business. The ideal founder is aiming at a very large market, has a clear product point of view, and understands that venture capital should be matched with venture-scale outcomes.

This site is intentionally direct. It makes the filters explicit so the right founders self-select in and the wrong opportunities self-select out.

How RETEN thinks about product shape

Preferred
A complete product with a visible customer value proposition and strong potential for large-scale adoption.
Less attractive
A narrow supplier dependent on another company’s distribution, roadmap, or customer ownership.
Most aligned
Products that can become destinations, habits, brands, or category leaders in their own right.
Selective exception
B2B technology that is so differentiated it can define a category and create exceptional upside.
